Tenino regulates marijuana under existing zoning. Retail establishments would seem to qualify as “sales of general merchandise,” which is allow in the following zones:

  • Mixed Use (MU)
  • Commercial (C-1)
  • Heavy Commercial (C-2)
  • Industrial (I) – 10,000 – 30,000sf

Production

Tenino regulates marijuana under existing zoning. Marijuana production would seem to qualify as “crop production,” which has three levels:

  • Level 1: Maximum 2 acres, maximum 1,000sf building space
  • Level 2: More than 2 acres, maximum 5,000sf building space
  • Level 3: Maximum 30,000sf building space

The following zones allow for crop production:

  • Single Family Environmentally Sensitive (SF-ES) – Level 1
  • Single Family (SF) – Level 1
  • Single Family Duplex (SF-D) – Level 1
  • Industrial (I) – Level 1, Level 2 with Administrative Use Permit, Level 3 with Conditional Use Permit

Processing

Tenino regulates marijuana under existing zoning. Marijuana processing would seem to qualify as either an industrial “food and related products” use if making food stuff, or “manufacturing and major assembly” if the business is “manufacturing of products by predominately chemical processes,” like oil extraction.

  • Commercial (C-1) – Food and related products
  • Commercial (C-2) – Food and related products
  • Industrial (I) – Food and related products, Manufacturing and major assembly
